Easy Access To The Brisbane Airport Terminals
The Brisbane International and Domestic Airport terminals are within easy reach of the Best Western Sunnybank Star Motel And Apartments. Travel 2 minutes along Miles Plating road onto the Gateway Motorway. This is currently the quickest route to the terminals and takes you over the Gateway Bridge. It will take you another 20-25 minutes to reach the airport. Note that there is a toll fee to cross the bridge (around $2-5 based on the size of your vehicle).
The Brisbane Airport is the third most trafficked airport in Australia and the trend in numbers passing through the terminals will only go up in the coming years. This has prompted proposals to create a new parallel runway to be built on the current site to handle the likely increase in numbers.
The influx of people settling in and around South East Queensland and the increase in tourist numbers each year is behind this quite rapid expansion. Plans to build an airport tunnel to make it even easier and quicker also takes it's brief from the massive growth in numbers likely to pass through the airport.
Travel To And From Terminals
The airport comprises of International and Domestic terminals. They are connected by an inter-terminal bus (Tbus) which takes around 10 minutes to get to the destination terminal.
Like all world class airports, Brisbane airport has all the facilities you would expect. There is the Airport Village which has a range of shops from Direct Factory Outlet through to Woolworths and Dan Murphys. If you need to do any last minute shopping or get some provisions ahead of your holiday then these shops will fit the bill.
You will also find duty free shops at the international terminal once you pass into the departure lounge.
The Terminals have a prayer room. They also have WiFi access in specific areas in each terminal. These are referred to as the Common User Areas and can be found on a few levels in each terminal.
Parking is provided for both terminals. There are drop off points where you have a few minutes to drop of people. Other than that there are short and long stay parking locations.
At the International Terminal, short parking is around $2.00 for 15 minutes and can get up to $26 for 4 hours.
If you are planning on leaving your vehicle for a bit longer, you want the long stay option. Prices for Long stay range from $32.00 for one day through to $109 for one week. And then $10 for each additional day there after.
At the Domestic Terminal, a short stay will cost around $6 for 30 minutes through to $52 for 24 hours. If you plan to stay longer, the long stay option is $42 for 24 hours and $122 for 5 days.
There is also a parking valet service at the domestic terminal which can save you time but is a bit more expensive.
Depending on the type of parking you get, you will be closer to the departure terminals. With that said, the maximum walking time fro the international terminal is 5 minutes. The maximum walking time fro the domestic is 10 minutes.
Trolleys for Luggage
When you get to the car park or departure terminal, there will be plenty of trolleys to haul your luggage. In the international terminal, the trolleys are free. In the domestic terminals the trolleys cost $4 to use.

A door to door bus service is run by Con-x-ion Airport Transfers.
They run the service 7 days a week anywhere to Brisbane (including the Great Western Motel).
There are also rental car facilities at the both terminals of the airport.
